The moment I stepped into The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney's Board Walk, I couldn't stop smiling. There is just something about glitter, elegant pink décor, sparkling crystal chandeliers, fresh flowers, and fairy-tale details that makes my heart so incredibly happy. But seriously- why does pink make me so happy?
Founded by pastry chef Gwendolyn Rogers, The Cake Bake Shop began in Indiana before bringing its signature elegance to Disney's Board Walk. Her vision was to create a place where every meal feels like a celebration, with handcrafted recipes, luxurious ingredients, and a little bit of magic in every detail. More than 40 years of recipe development and pastry artistry shine through in everything they serve.
Every Detail Feels Magical
One of my favorite little touches? The edible Pixie Glitter sprinkled throughout many of the desserts and drinks. It catches the light just enough to make everything shimmer. It's whimsical without being over the top and perfectly fits the fairytale atmosphere.
Even the coffee is elevated. They proudly serve premium illy coffee from Italy, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Rich, smooth, and delicious, it's the perfect pairing with one of their incredible desserts.
The Food
I honestly wasn't expecting the savory food to be as incredible as it was... but wow.
🥗 Caesar Salad was fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor. The parmesan crisp was the topper!
🍗 Chicken Piccata was perfectly cooked with a bright lemon butter sauce. It could have used a little more flavor but was still so good.
☕ The Swan Coffee - almost too pretty to drink. Almost! Not only was it delicious, but it arrived with the most beautiful swan design.
🍰 And then came dessert...
I ordered the Unbirthday Marshmallow Cake and I don't think any other cake will compare now. It made me think of the perfect childhood dessert. My 9 year old self would have been in heaven. My 30 year old self had a little harder time eating all the sugar! Soft cake, creamy marshmallow goodness, and ice cream together? Every bite tasted well...like pure sugar! It doesn't count on vacation though....... right?
Celebrations
If you're celebrating your birthday, you are in for a surprise.
Your server brings out a beautiful butterfly, invites you to make a wish, and then sprinkles you with Pixie Dust. It's such a simple moment, but somehow it feels incredibly magical. It made my birthday feel even more special.
Character Cups Worth Collecting
One of the most fun surprises is the collection of whimsical keepsake mugs and cups. You'll find enchanting characters like Brûlée the Dragon,(Yep, one is coming home with me. I couldn't resist!) along with other seasonal fairy-tale-inspired collectible creations designed exclusively for The Cake Bake Shop. They're adorable enough to display long after your Disney vacation is over.

Service That Matches the Magic
Our Server "Coolie" truly made my birthday here feel extra special. With a magical butterfly birthday wish to letting me hang out with all the whimsical keepsake mugs so I could get some great content for you guys- he was amazing and made the experience that much better.
Final Thoughts
Was the Cake Bake Shop a splurge? Yessssss.... but It was one I thought was worth it!
It's an experience.
From the sparkling chandeliers to the glitter-covered desserts, the elegant atmosphere, delicious handcrafted food, beautiful coffee, magical birthday celebration, and impeccable service, every detail feels thoughtfully designed to make you smile.
If you're looking for a special celebration, a romantic dinner, a girls' day, or simply want to surround yourself with beautiful things for a couple of hours, I cannot recommend it enough.
